Happy New Year | Paulson Coletti

At Paulson Coletti, we are all about celebrating the things that matter most, including the New Year. This is a time to reflect on the past year, make plans for the next one, and spend some quality time with your loved ones. We are proud of what we accomplished in 2015 and look forward to doing even more this upcoming year. Our clients’ well-being is our main concern. This is why our team provides tips to make sure you stay safe this New Year’s Eve. If you are injured, call us to see if we may be able to help.

Call a Cab

If you plan on drinking to celebrate the New Year, please do so responsibly. Remember the dangers of drinking and driving. When you drive while intoxicated, you put yourself and anybody else on the road at risk of serious injury. Call yourself a cab if you drink so you can avoid the serious repercussions that come with driving while intoxicated.

Stay Over Where You Are

If you go to a friend or family member’s home and don’t want to call a cab, we encourage you to stay over until you are sober enough to drive. It is better to make sure you are completely safe than to venture out of the home and on the road.

Watch for Other Drivers

Even if you do not drink, it can be dangerous to travel on New Year’s Eve. Other drivers on the road may not exercise the same amount of caution when it comes to the safety of people on the road and when they drink and drive, it can cause serious accidents. As a driver, you must remain aware of others driving to protect yourself from serious injury.

Avoid Driving at Late Hours

We all do the countdown to midnight and then continue the celebration. Oftentimes, this leads to drivers on the road at early hours of the morning. People on the road at 1 or 2 a.m. who have had even the slightest to drink may still be fatigued. It can cause drivers to fall asleep, resulting in serious accidents. If you are in a crash, call a car accident lawyer in Portland for assistance with your case.
