$4 Million Portland Medical Malpractice Verdict | Failure to Recognize Imperforated Anus

Yesterday, a jury in Multnomah County, Oregon, returned a nearly $4 million verdict for the parents of a baby boy who died from an imperforated anus. The hospital where the boy was born failed to recognize that the boy’s anus was closed (which can occur and is normally easily repaired). The jury verdict was in Portland, Oregon and was a medical malpractice (medical negligence) case. The jury was out nearly a full day.
