Oregon's Super Lawyers

Our value is measured by what we give back to the community.
WHEN THE ATTORNEYS AT PAULSON COLETTI BELIEVE someone has been harmed by the negligence of another, they fight to obtain justice for that client. For decades residents of Oregon and Washington have turned to the lawyers at Paulson Coletti to help them right their wrongs, picking the firm because of its strong record of success.
TOP-RATED The partners at Paulson Coletti—Chuck Paulson, Jane Paulson and John Coletti—are all highly respected lawyers who have been named repeatedly to The Best Lawyers in America and the Oregon Super Lawyers® list. They are known for securing million-dollar verdicts and settlements in a diverse array of serious personal injury matters, from auto accidents and defective products to medical mistakes, workplace injuries and wrongful deaths.
FULL-COURT PRESS “We are a small firm but we will not be outgunned because we have the resources to finance the cases we take on,” says Jane Paulson, who partnered with her father in 1995.
FINDING JUSTICE In 2009 Jane Paulson represented a 63-yearold widow who was hit in a crosswalk by a TriMet bus making a left turn. Though once a very active and independent woman, the client’s life was irrevocably changed when her leg was amputated below the knee. Paulson advocated relentlessly for her client while challenging the $200,000 cap on damages. The evening before the trial Paulson obtained a $1.5 million settlement.
John Coletti tried the first shoulder pain pump trial in the country to verdict, obtaining a $5.475 million verdict for his client in 2009. Coletti trusted that a jury would see the truth once the tactics of the national manufacturer were brought to light.
COURTSIDE SKILLS In all of the cases Paulson Coletti handles, its lawyers find the best expert witnesses to support their cases. Opponents know that the firm only takes on strong cases and will champion them to trial. With a deep commitment to helping people, firm attorneys also aim to hold individuals, corporations and insurance companies accountable for their actions and make substantial changes for the better.
GIVING BACK The firm also shares a passion for community and professional leadership. John Coletti is a volunteer wish grantor with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Jane Paulson is a board member of Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East, and former police officer Chuck Paulson has served on the Portland Police Review Board. The firm also gives generously to numerous educational, arts and community organizations.

The attorneys apply these principles to each case, and it is why they have numerous million-dollar verdicts and settlements in serious malpractice, wrongful death, products liability and other personal injury cases. It is also why all three attorneys have been named to Oregon Super Lawyers®.
DEDICATED TO THEIR CLIENTS “We enjoy representing the ‘little guys’ against corporations, insurance companies or others who’ve harmed them,” says Jane Paulson, who is among the Top 25 female attorneys on the Oregon Super Lawyers list.
Her father, Chuck Paulson, agrees. “We are trial advocates for those who have been harmed—often severely—by the negligence and fault of others.”
Realizing that personal injury cases are often fraught with emotion, the attorneys handle cases with sensitivity and care. “Many people’s lives have been destroyed,” says John Coletti. “Their trust is paramount to us. We want to help them take care of their families and rebuild their lives.”
DEDICATED TO THE LAW All the lawyers are listed in The Best Lawyers of America and they’ve all received an AV rating, the highest rating, from Martindale-Hubbell®. Both Chuck and Jane Paulson are past presidents of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association.
Chuck, who’s been practicing since 1958, is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Jane is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and John is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
DEDICATED TO THE COMMUNITY All raised in Oregon, the attorneys are passionate about giving back. “We believe in helping people both inside the courtroom and in the community,” says Chuck, a former police officer, who was on the Portland Police Review Board.
Jane is on the board of the Portland Habitat for Humanity, and John is involved in the March of Dimes.
DEDICATED TO BEING THE BEST It behooves a client to have attorneys who are committed to excelling at anything they attempt. Chuck is a lifelong tennis player and cyclist. John has competed in two Ironman triathlons and is training for a third. Jane, who plays tennis, just completed Hood to Coast and is training for a half marathon.
“We believe in giving 100 percent, whether it is personal or professional,” Jane says. “Our clients deserve nothing less.”
