What about admitted using improperly sterilized equipment? I had Lap Band surgery... 3 months later I was notified that the camera equipment was not sterilized properly. I had to be tested for HIV, HEP B & C, and liver enzymes. The tests were repeated 6 months later. Thank god I have not contracted any of these diseases, but the waiting and mental anguish was horrible.

I also had to have my surgery corrected 8 months later because they had placed the band on my esophagus and not on the upper portion of my stomach.

It's crazy that they can get away with this. I suffered for months not to mention out of pocket expenses that I was not able to recoup because the surgery was not covered by my insurance!
