Unfortunate amputation

Now you see it, and now you don’t. Former Florida resident Enrique Milla has filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against his anesthesiologist after losing his penis. Milla underwent penile implant surgery, an elective procedure, for erectile dysfunction, but after his surgery he got gangrene, and doctors were forced to amputate his penis.

Milla, who has since been deported to Peru, settled a lawsuit against the surgeon who performed the penile implant surgery in 2009. His reason for going after the anesthesiologist? Milla claims the anesthesiologist was responsible for making sure Milla was fit for surgery, and he wasn’t–he had high blood pressure and diabetes, and those, Milla believes, should have been red flags.
